As a final com­po­nent of the unfi­nis­hed agen­da for the first year, I main­tai­ned that too few seni­or insti­tu­tio­nal lea­ders, inclu­ding pre­si­dents and chief aca­de­mic offi­cers, empa­thi­ze with the pro­blems of con­tem­pora­ry stu­dents becau­se when they went to col­le­ge, they did not expe­ri­ence the bene­fits of first-year pro­grams, pro­bab­ly were not on federal finan­ci­al aid, and pro­bab­ly did not have the cha­rac­te­ris­tics of the majo­ri­ty of today’s first-year stu­dents.https://mathdone.org/
